Who is a Candidate?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a new concept in treating facial wrinkles of the forehead,
between the eyes, and the "crow's feet" areas. Injecting botulinum
toxin into the small muscles in these areas freezes muscles in a relaxed state,
improving the appearance of wrinkles.
BOTOX Cosmetic injection has proven more effective than fillers, such as
silicone, collagen, or fat transfer, in removing wrinkles from the
upper third of the face. Results following BOTOX Cosmetic treatment in Frederick are temporary and re-injection is
necessary within four to six months.

BOTOX Cosmetic FAQ's
- Can you be allergic to BOTOX Cosmetic?
This is an interesting question. It was once believed that no one could
be allergic to BOTOX Cosmetic; however, there have been some reported cases of
people who experience ineffective treatments after their second or
third injection of BOTOX Cosmetic. It is widely believed that the body has
developed some form of allergy or resistance that triggers the release
of an antigen antibody reaction which deactivates the BOTOX Cosmetic before it
effectively treat the area.
Interestingly, a new form of BOTOX Cosmetic is being developed in Ireland, which
is derived from a slightly different source. It is believed that people
with the "BOTOX Cosmetic allergy" will be able to be effectively treated with
this new form of BOTOX Cosmetic.
- I have a heart condition. Is there any problem with using BOTOX Cosmetic?
Absolutely not. There is no known systemic effect of BOTOX Cosmetic or any
long-term effect. BOTOX Cosmetic is an excellent treatment for heart patients
since it does not involve sedation.
