"I'm a dancer, and I was embarrassed by the appearance of my lower body in
my leotard and tights. I was in great shape, but exercise could not change
the appearance of my thighs and buttocks. Since my thigh and buttock lift,
I feel great in my dance clothingeven on stage!"
—P.A. (age 54)
Who is a Candidate?
Anyone with lax skin of the thighs, hips or buttocks. A thigh-buttock lift can give you a tighter, more attractive lower body appearance, improve irregularities in the skin's surface, and improve
the contours of those areas.

Thigh Lift in Frederick, Maryland
Thigh lift and buttock lift procedures are highly individualized and tailored to solve individual problems and concerns. Several variations in the design of incisions are possible to meet such needs. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia in an outpatient setting. Other popular procedures that can be combined with a thigh lift include tummy tuck and liposuction in Maryland.
Recovery Time
Recuperation and healing depend on the specific surgery performed. Most patients are able to return home after the procedure, but will require assistance at home for at least the first few days. Normally,
you can return to work in two weeks. The bruising and swelling usually subside within a month. Strenuous activities are usually possible in 6 weeks.
Intended Result
A more shapely and balanced contour to the thigh and buttock areas, and a more attractive appearance in tights, shorts and most clothing.
Thigh Lift FAQ's
- How do I know which incision is appropriate?
You need to discuss this with your physician. Depending upon the type
of clothing you wear, the type of correction you want to achieve, and
your goals, there are several options. Your doctor can recommend which
approach is best for your particular situation.
- Will the sagging recur over time?
With normal healthy habits, the risk of recurrence is low; however,
dramatic weight gains and losses following the surgery can result in
some recurrence by increasing the laxity of the skin.
- Is there an ideal weight I should be before having this procedure?
You should be within twenty pounds of your reasonable weight. If you
were to lose in excess of 30 or 40 pounds after surgery, the skin would
again loosen the repair and partially detract from the surgical
correction.
- How visible are the scars?
Initially the scars are always hidden beneath even very short shorts.
The question becomes whether the scars will be visible in a bathing
suit. Each thigh lift is individualized, and therefore the scars are
different from one patient to the next. Ultimately some relatively
narrow white lines will eventually show beneath the edge of a bathing
suit due to the effects of gravity and aging.
